trouble activating voicemail

I read the tutorial, but still cannot get voicemail box set up on my 800g.
- opened phone
- hit '1', and system asks if I have an existing mailbox, or want to leave voicemail, it never asks for last 4 as a temp pass code..... I never get to any setup prompts, just attempt to LEAVE a voicemail, which fails since i dont have it set up?!


so.... what am I missing?

when are you going to PM, I don't see anything inbox or spam folder.

do you suspect it is something not set up in my specific account ALLOWING a voicemail box? If it is a matter of following specific steps, I can do that. ;), the problem is that the online instructions and tutorial for the lg800g are pretty lame, and what happens on my phone is not what the tutorial indicates since it leaves out everything that happens after you press '1'.

why do you want to take it offline? if its here, then perhaps the next person seraching for a more explicit list of action to set up voicemail would find it....

the problem w/ the online tutorial is that it leaves out all the specifics after 'press and hold 1'. I did not get a voice prompt to create a new voicemail box and it never asked for a code. I'd like to see an explicit tutorial on what I should be hearing and choosing to get this set up.

Obvious to anyone that this is a foolishly complex method of dealing with simple problems... and a frustrating and annoying one. Customer service should be easy to access and comprehend, and be quick as well.

This is quite confusing for me. My serial # is xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx. I pressed the '1' key to activate the voicemail and became confused by the instructions and am not sure that I have a password or what it is. In any event, I cannot receive calls and cannot access my voicemail, not knowing what, if anything, my password is.
