Invalid sim card message

Same issue as others. I have a basic tracfone (LG) phone purchased and used a few years ago, and I'm trying to buy additional minutes on the website. After entering my serial number and indicating I'd like to keep my phone number, I receive a message "The SIM card with the information you provided currently has an invalid status."

Same thing happens if try to get a new phone number. Please let me know what I should do.
