I've had my Motorola C261 for quite sometime. It's been a pretty good starter phone and very easy to use.

I bought my Tracfone- a Motorola C261- in late 2006 or early 2007. It used to receive voicemail msgs. For the past few years now, it will no longer let me access any VoiceMail msgs. When I try to find help on the TracFone site, it just says that voicemail works on digital phones only, & that my phone ser # &/or phone # is invalid. BUT- it does continue to let callers record voicemail msgs, that I have no way to access! As you can imagine, this has become quite a problem.

1. Is it true that the Motorola C261 is not a digital-capable phone?

2. If there is no way for me to access msgs, is there any way to stop it from recording voicemail msgs from callers?

Thanks for any help.

Motorola C261 - photo transmit - blocked by TracFone

Postby BronzBillet » Sat May 21, 2016 10:51 pm

For 10 years I've used a Motorola C261 camera phone from TracFone -- GREAT phone. I'm in western Pennsylvania (with both AT&T [good] and Verizon [bad] tower service). My C261 service is paid active through 1/30/2017 and has about 3080 minute units still on it. When I recently went to add online a 200 minute/90 day card, TracFone blocked the card addition, and I got their webpage message that 2G is ending and I had to get a new 3G capable TracFone. (So I bought an LG L33G Android 4G-LTE smartphone directly from TracFone.) Here's the PROBLEM: Many times in the past I've transmitted to my regular email account from my C261 by MMS message various photos taken by my C261. NOW before 2G goes dead, I'm trying to transmit out from my C261 to my same regular email account all of my NON-REPLACEABLE photos (of past events, kids when young, deceased friends, etc) that are saved in my C261, but TracFone is apparently blocking that now. My phone keeps eating MMS minute units but nothing transmits out, not even a plain MMS text message. (Though SMS/EMS text messages do still transmit.) My C261 Messages ’Outbox’ directory shows a red circle O with a red slash / through it, indicating no go. So how do I get my photos out of my C261 now that TracFone has apparently cut off MMS messaging?
