What does the "E" mean?

I have a capital E in a blue square at the top right of my phone screen, just to the left of my "sound/vib" button and battery indicator. What does the E mean?

No, that must not be it because it shows that all the time. I've only used this phone for the internet once. The E is always there.

Hi bhadom. The letter E icon appears when your phone is connected to the internet. It will always appear on the phone once you're in an area with good signal for internet. This doesn't mean you are accessing the browser of your phone. Hope this helps. Thanks.
