Samsung T105G dials 911 in keylock

Samsung T105G dials 911 in keylock

Postby kevin987 » Tue Jun 19, 2012 9:43 pm

Is the Samsung T105G programed to dial 911 when pressing the 0 or 8 keys? My son
has been reprimanded by the 911 operator for dialing 911 when removing the phone from his
pocket.

Thanks

Hi, kevin987. My name is TracFone Shelly. Sorry that you are having a problem. I will try to help you. The 911 number must have been saved up on your son's speed dial. Please try to go to Menu ➔ Contacts ➔ Favorites then select the number "0," you can either assign a different number to it or just leave it blank then click on "Save" or "Add." I hope this would help.

I don't think I explained the problem correctly. My son and daughter (both phones are T105G) have been reprimanded by the 911 operator for accidently dialing 911. This happens with the keylock active. Pressing 0 then 8 brings up a prompt, during keylock, asking if they want to dial a "emergency call". Sometimes they accidently pick yes instead of no and the phone dials out ot 911. I tried looking at the menu contacts then favorites and there is no option of editing number zero, just 1-9. I edited 8 to another number instead of empty and pressing 0 then 8 during keylock still asks us if we want to dial "emergency call". This happens on all of our phones. I purchased 4 of them. Is this some sort of glitch? If I leave the keylock off we risk dialing out a number and using all our minutes. If we leave the keylock on we risk calling 911 and being fined hundreds of dollars. Please help.

Hi Kevin987. We apologize for any incovenience this may have caused you. However, that's how the phone is programmed. There's no other way for us to change that. Once the phone is locked, just make sure to press the correct key for the phone to be unlocked successfully and not dialling 911. Thanks!

I am having the same problem!!!!!! My phone has called 911 six times while the keypad is locked. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM!!!!!!! It wastes 911 operators time and can result in fines for the owners of the phone. There should be a way of shutting this so called emergency feature off. If this is not possible, do you have a phone that will not do this? I have had many cell phones over the years and have never accidentally dialed 911on any other phone. Please come up with a solution. THANKS
