Blank text message from 129

I've been consistently receiving blank text messages from 129. I called Tracfone and they say that it isn't coming from them. Has anyone else had this issue and or know what this is and how to take care of it? Thanks. Pam S.

I have my TracFone cell number already registered on the National Do Not Call Registry, and this morning I had 6 text messages that only had context of "129". The only thing I noticed was my battery had been drained, I charged it overnight, powered phone on and there were those 6 texts!

Hi,
Since I upgraded to a new Samsung phone I've been getting around 7 to 10 blank text messages from 129.
Am I charged for getting or reading these messages? It's very annoying in meetings being 'pinged' and
finding that it's just another text from 129! H E L P !

TO ALL FORUM USERS:
The response given by "Tracfone Janet" that is so 'secretive' that it needs to be 'emailed' is simply a link to an
online chat 'service' from Tracfone that essentially says there is nothing that Tracfone can do (or is willing to do)
to stop these '129' blank text messages. The solution offered was to contact the do not call service of the FCC
and register the number. I haven't tried that but I suspect that you need an actual phone number to report.
I am very disappointed in Tracfone's response and the time I wasted on this matter with them.
