Upgraded from one Tracfone (LG440g) to another (LG530g) which I thought would be effortless. Did the walk-through online. Looks like the new phone is the current active phone. I did try to put the old SIM card in the new phone, which is why there are SIM cards--so that you can transfer all the contact data and not have to re-enter it. Otherwise why have a portable card at all? Why not just hard solder it in? I was just trying to do the logical thing here. Now I read that you can't change SIMs from one Tracfone to another (see the previous rhetorical questions). OK, so now even if I have the factory SIM card in that came with the new phone, I still get the "Sim Card Rejected" message on screen and can't get past it. So I haven't had phone service for the last four hours. Not the end of the world but it would be nice to have a phone.
