"Message Blocking is Active"

Hello, I received a new phone in the mail today, (Alcatel Pixi Unite A466BG). Now, once I activated it I was able to make calls, thankfully...however, I cannot do any texting. I instantly receive the automated reply of
"Free Msg: Unable to send message - Message Blocking is Active." Now, you see, I am supposed to recieve my 500 minutes and unlimited texting through my safelink Contract which is provided through this company, TracFone. I'd appreciate it greatly, if you'd please help me resolve this issue...I'm a 75 year old woman who's spent all day trying to figure out how to "Enable Messaging" until I finally decide to have a look online, only to come to the conclusion (with the help of several posts I've seen mention similar, if not the exact same issue), I don't have that ability, and I've wasted my time trying not to be an invalid.

I'm having the same issues only I cant call either same exact phone don't know my minutes set up because when I tried to set it up it told me up can't call then I text only to receive a free msg. Stating message block is activated and I've done all the trouble shooting to no avail.

my messaging was working last night now its saying everytime i send out 'free msg:unable to send message- message blocking is active can someone help me here please.
